We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced General Manager of Bars and Nightlife to spearhead the launch and ongoing operations of our newly renovated and exclusive Lounge, Bowtie Bar, and Market. This pivotal role is a rare opportunity to craft a unique guest experience that marries upscale hospitality with the lively energy of Times Square. The General Manager will work closely with the Director of Operations to oversee all facets of the daily operations across these outlets, ensuring exceptional service delivery, operational excellence, and strong financial performance.

This position demands a blend of visionary leadership and hands-on management. The General Manager will be responsible for creating innovative food and beverage programs, partnering with culinary and hotel leadership teams to bring fresh concepts to life. A key aspect of this role includes building and nurturing a high-performing team capable of delivering memorable guest experiences. The General Manager will be pivotal in maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance while fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture.

This role requires a leader who is deeply engaged with the operational floor during peak hours, ensuring seamless service and guest satisfaction. The successful candidate will also be responsible for budget forecasting, cost control, and executing strategic marketing initiatives in collaboration with the Marketing and PR teams. In addition to driving revenue growth and managing costs, the General Manager will ensure that all outlet areas meet stringent maintenance and sanitation standards.

Job Requirements

Minimum two years of post high school education
Three or more years of full-time related experience
Hotel experience preferred
Experience in nightlife or independent bar settings preferred
Ability to lead and manage staff
Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of hospitality industry operations
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Availability to work flexible hours including peak operation times

Job Qualifications

Minimum two years of post high school education
At least three years of full-time employment in a related position
Prior hotel experience preferred
Experience in nightlife and independent bar settings preferred
Thorough knowledge of restaurant and hotel practices and procedures
Strong supervision, management, and communication skills
Ability to analyze activities and make logical recommendations
Capability to make decisions guided by established policies
Knowledge of hotel operations including marketing, security, labor relations, budgeting, maintenance, quality assurance, hospitality law, and long-range planning
Leadership skills to motivate and develop staff
Effective prioritization, planning, organizing, and delegation skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to adapt communication style to different audiences

Job Duties

Develop upscale beverage programs and collaborate with Marketing and PR team on bar activations
Hands-on presence at the bar and lounge floor during peak operational hours
Direct day-to-day operations of the restaurant and market for breakfast, lunch, and dinner periods
Manage bar operations daily
Oversee human resources functions including hiring, training, scheduling, coaching, and performance reviews
Implement company programs and ensure compliance with LSOPs, SOPs, safety regulations, and legal requirements
Forecast, monitor, control, and report on outlet budgets including labor, food, beverage costs to maximize revenue and control expenses
Respond to customer feedback and ensure quality service
Create and implement promotions, displays, and ideas to attract guests and locals
Monitor maintenance and sanitation to protect assets and ensure service quality
Comply with attendance policies and be regularly available
Perform other related duties as assigned
