Job Requirements

  • Prior culinary experience in high volume production prep and cooking
  • Ability to follow federal, state and corporate food safety guidelines
  • Willingness to work full time with variable shifts
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the kitchen
  • Capability to operate kitchen equipment safely
  • Ability to adhere to personal protective equipment requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work well in a team
  • Willingness to perform other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior culinary experience in high volume production preparation and cooking
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to follow standardized recipes and instructions
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to operate and maintain kitchen equipment
  • Commitment to workplace safety and cleanliness

Job Duties

  • Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules
  • Serves meals or prepares for delivery using correct portioning, ensures food is at the correct temperature and tastes all prepared food items
  • Uses established ticket collection procedures during service and maintains records
  • Cleans kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high cleanliness standards
  • Stores or discards excess food following safe food-handling procedures
  • Keeps refrigerators and storerooms clean and organized, ensures proper storage of food and supplies
  • Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed
  • Assists in production planning, record keeping, and reporting
  • Assists in ordering and receiving of food and supplies
  • Reports maintenance needs, faulty equipment or accidents to supervisor immediately
  • Attends in-service and safety meetings
  • Maintains good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators and managers
  • Performs job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment
  • Ensures proper food presentation, portion control, maintenance of serving temperatures, and follows HACCP standards
  • Demonstrates personal commitment to safety for self and others
  • Adheres to company policies including use of protective gloves, oven mitts, slip-resistant shoes and proper lifting techniques
  • Performs other duties as assigned
