Tips
Since Concierges work across different industries and establishments, the tipping trends for this position may vary.
While Concierges in hotels and resorts can regularly expect tips, those working in other establishments (such as corporate offices or apartment complexes) might receive fewer tips or none at all.
In many hotels and resorts, tips can drastically improve a Concierge’s overall earnings. However, the amount they receive in tips depends on where they work and the level or type of service they've provided.
For example, if a Concierge made a reservation in a busy restaurant, customers would often tip $5–$10. However, if the restaurant is extremely busy and difficult to dine in, then the tip could go up to around $20.
For more challenging services, such as getting tickets to a sold-out event, it's possible for Concierges to receive tips as high as $50.
Experience and education
The Concierge position typically requires a high school diploma or an equivalent. However, applicants who have a degree in hotel management have better odds of receiving a competitive salary.
