Computer Engineer Duties & Responsibilities

Conduct validation testing for newly developed and renovated motherboards to ensure reliability and functionality
Ensure that existing computer equipment is consistently updated and in optimal working condition
Stay abreast of the latest technologies and integrate new advancements into existing computer units
Draft blueprints for new computer equipment, outlining specifications and features and present them to management for approval
Plan and oversee the production process of computer hardware equipment, ensuring efficiency and quality
Collaborate with design teams to develop and refine computer hardware designs based on technological advancements
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues, working closely with technical support teams and end-users
Test and evaluate prototype computer hardware to identify areas for improvement and optimization
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers to ensure seamless integration of hardware and software components
Develop and maintain documentation for hardware specifications, configurations and testing procedures
Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to source high-quality components and materials for computer hardware production
Participate in the development of product roadmaps and long-term strategies for computer hardware evolution
Adhere to industry standards and regulations in the development and production of computer hardware

Computer Engineer Experience & Skills

Proven work experience as a computer engineer or in a comparable role
Strong knowledge of design analytics, algorithms and measuring tools
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Creativity and analytical abilities
Ability to resolve issues in a timely and efficient manner
Expertise in hardware design, including the development and validation of motherboards and other computing components
Proficiency in programming languages and software development
Strong understanding of computer architecture and system integration
Experience in conducting validation testing for computer hardware.
Ability to draft comprehensive blueprints for new computer equipment
Experience in planning and managing the production process of computer hardware equipment
Adaptability to evolving technologies and a commitment to continuous learning in the field of computer engineering
Strong organizational skills
Commitment to quality assurance and adherence to industry standards in the development and maintenance of computer systems

Computer Engineer Education & Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
