Job Requirements

  • Relevant experience in culinary or hospitality field
  • Ability to manage kitchen operations effectively

Job Qualifications

  • High school education required
  • College degree in culinary/hospitality preferred
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in similar hotel or restaurant
  • Experience working all stations in kitchen
  • Customer service experience preferred
  • Prior hospitality experience preferred
  • At least one year of food and beverage experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times
  • Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction
  • Serve as the 'Face' of the restaurant in the hotel and community
  • Create, cost, and implement seasonal and special menus
  • Attract, retain, and mentor the best culinary talent
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas
  • Review daily activities including house count, forecasted covers for each outlet, catering activity, purchases, meetings, appointments, VIPs/special guests and assign production and prep tasks to staff
  • Meet with Sous Chef to review schedules, assignments, anticipated business levels, changes and other information
  • Communicate additions or changes to assignments throughout the shift
  • Take physical inventory of specified food items for daily inventory
  • Review market list
  • Requisition supplies and ensure correct receiving and storage
  • Ensure staff report to work as scheduled and document absences
  • Coordinate breaks and inspect grooming and attire of staff
  • Ensure kitchen work areas are stocked and all procedures follow department standards
  • Monitor staff performance and rectify deficiencies
