As a brand, Five Iron Golf stands out for its commitment to innovation, inclusivity, and fostering strong community connections through its engaging and high-energy entertainment spaces. This growth underscores the company's status as a leader in the hospitality and entertainment industries, constantly pushing boundaries to deliver outstanding guest experiences that combine the thrill of sport with exceptional service and quality food offerings.
The Sous Chef role at Five Iron Golf presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced culinary professional to join a fast-paced, high-performing team dedicated to delivering exceptional guest experiences. The position is full-time and exempt, offering a competitive salary of $66,800 per year, with a schedule that includes nights and weekends to align with the dynamic operating hours of the venues. The Sous Chef will play a critical role in maintaining and elevating the operational standards of the kitchen, working closely with the Head Chef and General Manager - Social to ensure seamless culinary execution that meets both quality and fiscal goals.
Responsibilities for the Sous Chef extend beyond food preparation; this role demands strong leadership capabilities to cultivate a positive, collaborative, and hospitable kitchen environment. This includes overseeing the training and development of kitchen staff with a focus on maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. The Sous Chef will also be responsible for enforcing performance expectations, coaching team members, and supporting the Head Chef in managing all aspects of kitchen operations, such as inventory control, purchasing, scheduling, and compliance with food safety regulations. Recognizing the importance of efficient kitchen workflow during service periods, the Sous Chef must ensure the kitchen operates smoothly and effectively to deliver a consistent and timely dining experience.
Additionally, the Sous Chef collaborates across departments, particularly with the events team, to guarantee impeccable culinary execution during events and large gatherings hosted at the venues. This includes maintaining high presentation standards, addressing guest feedback promptly and professionally, and fostering a culture of hospitality that resonates throughout the kitchen and guest interactions. A key aspect of the role is managing strong vendor and supplier relationships to secure quality ingredients while maintaining cost efficiency, supporting the overall business objectives of the company.
Five Iron Golf is deeply committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace, ensuring equal employment opportunity for all and providing reasonable accommodations where applicable. The organization's dedication to employee well-being is reflected in its comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees, including health, dental and vision insurance, long and short-term disability coverage, accident and critical illness insurance, and participation in a 401(k) plan. In addition, team members enjoy free meals during their shifts, enhancing the workplace experience and reinforcing the company’s hospitality ethos. This role offers an exceptional career path for culinary leaders who thrive in dynamic environments and are passionate about combining culinary excellence with innovative hospitality.
