A lovely family of four based in Manhattan, New York, is seeking a dedicated and experienced full-time private chef to join their household. This family-oriented home embraces a relaxed yet refined lifestyle, situated in one of the most vibrant and dynamic cities in the world. Living in Manhattan, the chef will have access to an array of fresh local ingredients, specialty markets, and a multicultural food scene that complements the diverse culinary skills expected in this role.

Job Qualifications

Prior experience working in a private home
Experience making vegan dishes, and non-vegan
Can take charge of the kitchen
Organized
Able to travel if needed for special occasions and events
Legal to work in the US

Job Duties

Collaborate with the family and create meal and menu planning of various cuisines
Maintain recipes, electronic and hard file
Create profiles for the family, the children, and guests on their likes, dislikes, allergies, etc., and maintain those files for when the family entertains
Preparation of lunches, dinner and snacks daily, with some staples to be left in the fridge and pantry
Involve the children when possible and create fun and creative meals to expand their tastes
Create fun holiday themed meals and baked good for the children such as Halloween cookies and hot cocoa in winter
Grocery shopping and ordering
Sourcing fresh ingredients
Inventory management of pantry items and monitoring of expiration dates
Cleaning and maintenance of the kitchen with a clean as you go mentality
Open to travel with the family to their other residences out of state if needed for special events/occasions only
