The role focuses on preparing food to exact specifications, following detailed prep sheets, and adhering to department policies and procedures. You will be responsible for handling kitchen tools safely and efficiently, including knives and other small equipment, while maintaining a clean and orderly work environment. Physical stamina is essential in this position as the role requires standing, bending, and lifting up to 20 pounds frequently during shifts. You will be involved in opening, closing, and side work duties, along with contributing to end-of-day inventory processes. This position offers a competitive hourly wage of $15.50 and is ideal for candidates who thrive in a high-energy, organized kitchen setting. Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 20 lbs or more
  • ability to stand and bend for long periods of time
  • physical stamina to perform kitchen tasks
  • prior experience in a food preparation role preferred
  • basic understanding of food safety practices
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to read and comprehend prep sheets
  • follow instructions effectively
  • capacity to use kitchen tools safely, including knives and small equipment
  • manual ability to chop, mix, blend, whisk a variety of foods and liquids
  • experience operating kitchen equipment
  • basic knowledge of health and safety standards
  • good communication skills

Job Duties

  • Prepare food to specifications before and during unit operations
  • comply with all portion sizes, quality standards, department rules, policies, and procedures
  • label, date and wrap food products in accordance with ServSafe procedures
  • communicate with chef for any instructions or training
  • uphold all health codes and sanitation regulations
  • follow all safety, security and kitchen procedures
  • maintain food, utensils and equipment in a clean and orderly manner
  • perform opening, closing and side work duties
  • conduct end-of-day inventory in accordance with guidelines
