Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 20 lbs or more
  • ability to stand and bend for long periods of time
  • physical stamina to perform kitchen tasks
  • prior experience in a food preparation role preferred
  • basic understanding of food safety practices
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to read and comprehend prep sheets
  • follow instructions effectively
  • capacity to use kitchen tools safely, including knives and small equipment
  • manual ability to chop, mix, blend, whisk a variety of foods and liquids
  • experience operating kitchen equipment
  • basic knowledge of health and safety standards
  • good communication skills

Job Duties

  • Prepare food to specifications before and during unit operations
  • comply with all portion sizes, quality standards, department rules, policies, and procedures
  • label, date and wrap food products in accordance with ServSafe procedures
  • communicate with chef for any instructions or training
  • uphold all health codes and sanitation regulations
  • follow all safety, security and kitchen procedures
  • maintain food, utensils and equipment in a clean and orderly manner
  • perform opening, closing and side work duties
  • conduct end-of-day inventory in accordance with guidelines
