The role of Manager, Personal Lines Service Team, is a full-time leadership position based in Hartford, CT, with a hybrid remote working setup. The position commands a salary range of $60,000 to $80,000 per year and includes an attractive benefits package. This managerial role is pivotal in steering the Personal Lines team to meet production targets, uphold exemplary customer service standards, and ensure strict adherence to underwriting guidelines and regulatory compliance. The selected candidate will oversee key operational aspects including staff development, performance monitoring, and relationship management with insurance carriers, partners such as Greylock Federal Credit Union, and key community stakeholders.
As the Manager, Personal Lines Service Team, you will be entrusted with leading, mentoring, and coaching a team of account managers, fostering a positive and productive work environment grounded in respect, collaboration, and psychological safety. Your leadership will drive the team’s growth and efficiency while maintaining high standards of service delivery. You will also handle a personal book of business, managing customer inquiries, policy changes, and education on policy coverages. In coordination with the Operations Administrator, you will ensure compliance with all system updates, procedures, rating and product changes, as well as any relevant insurance regulations.
Additionally, this role requires close collaboration with underwriting and marketing personnel from partner companies to align strategies that promote agency growth and customer satisfaction. Maintaining effective communication channels with Greylock Federal Credit Union employees to facilitate referral generation is also essential. Your responsibilities will include troubleshooting and resolving customer and staff issues to maintain high service quality. - 3 years of personal lines insurance experience with an independent insurance agency
- Travel to other offices as needed for meetings, training sessions or office coverage
Job Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree, some college, or no degree
- Management and rating systems experience with Epic
- Computer skills including DocuSign, Adobe, MS Teams, MS SharePoint, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, Zoom
Job Duties
- Lead and mentor a team of account managers within Personal Lines including assigning tasks, monitoring performance and coaching
- Meet or exceed Personal Lines production goals set by SVP, Agency Manager by assisting account managers in generating new business and quoting personal lines insurance
- Provide customer service to a small Personal Lines book of business including policy changes, assist with inquiries, write and process insurance policies, educate customers about policy coverages
- Work with the Operations Administrator to ensure all systems, procedures, rate and product changes as well as insurance company regulations are communicated to and adhered to by all Personal Lines staff
- Work with management team to oversee, coordinate and maintain strong working relationships with underwriting and marketing personnel from partner companies
- Maintain communications as well as relationships with Greylock Federal Credit Union employees regarding referrals to the agency
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of company specific products and services and assist management with implementing marketing and sales strategies
- Troubleshoot and reconcile problems and complaints referred by customers and staff
