Job Description

Original X Productions (OGX) is a renowned entertainment company specializing in location-based experiences that captivate audiences worldwide. Among its key attractions are The FRIENDSTM Experience and Hershey Super Sweet Adventure, both of which offer unique and immersive adventures designed to deliver unforgettable moments of joy and engagement. Known for its dynamic and creative approach, Original X Productions prioritizes excellence, safety, and fun, ensuring that every aspect of their operations reflects these core values. Their commitment to creating high-quality entertainment has positioned them as a leader in experiential leisure, making them a sought-after employer within the entertainment and hospitality industries.

At the heart of OGX’s operations is their flagship location in New York City, where they maintain a bustling retail café that complements their entertainment offerings. They are currently seeking a Lead Barista to oversee this café's daily operations, acting as a frontline supervisor and team leader dedicated to maintaining exceptional guest experiences and operational excellence. This part-time role is compensated at $21.00 per hour and is designed for individuals who thrive in fast-paced, customer-focused settings and take pride in leadership roles.

The Lead Barista position is more than just managing coffee service—it is about embodying and promoting the culture and values of OGX through effective leadership. As the Leader on Duty (LOD) at the café, this individual will train and develop team members to deliver world-class retail café services, enforce company policies and procedures related to food and beverage operations, and ensure that inventory and daily tasks are efficiently managed. This role requires a blend of supervisory skills, operational knowledge, and a keen eye for customer service excellence.

The ideal candidate will have prior management or supervisory experience within the food and beverage industry, preferably with exposure to café or barista environments. They must be detail-oriented, capable of multitasking, and able to remain composed under pressure. Physical requirements include the ability to stand for prolonged periods and handle food inventory weighing up to 25 pounds. Flexibility is critical, as the work schedule will include evenings, weekends, and holidays.

In addition to overseeing daily café functions, the Lead Barista plays a vital role in fostering a positive and effective team culture. They participate actively in defining the workplace environment, ensuring that team members are supported and motivated to meet and exceed customer expectations. This position also involves enforcing disciplinary standards when necessary and communicating inventory needs to upper management to avoid operational disruptions.

Working at OGX means being part of a company that treasures diversity, encourages creativity, and values every team member as part of the family. Their equal opportunity employment policy highlights the company's dedication to inclusivity, welcoming individuals from diverse backgrounds and those with disabilities to apply. If you are passionate about delivering fun, excellence, and safe experiences, this leadership role at Original X Productions provides a unique opportunity to grow professionally while contributing to a company that makes happiness its mission.
