Job Requirements
- Professional training through culinary education or experience in fast-paced fine dining or catering
- previous supervisory experience preferred
- ability to supervise kitchen staff
- proficiency with kitchen equipment including broiler, steamer, convection oven, mixer, meat slicer, and chef knife
- effective communication skills with diverse team members and guests
- proficiency in English language
- able to work in a fast-paced, team environment
- valid food handling certificate if required by law
Job Qualifications
- Professional culinary education or experience in fast-paced fine dining or catering
- previous supervisory experience in a kitchen preferred
- ability to supervise kitchen staff
- proficiency in operating standard kitchen equipment including broiler, steamer, convection oven, mixer, meat slicer, and chef knife
- effective communication skills with employees, management, and guests
- ability to speak, read, and write English
- ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced event environment
- valid food handling certificate if required by regulations
Job Duties
- Coordinate and supervise kitchen staff work
- display knowledge of culinary preparation and teach proper preparation and food presentation
- assist in controlling food and labor costs
- conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness and maintenance meet standards
- assist with monthly inventory
- provide high-quality, fresh food products timely for guest delivery
- prepare hot and cold foods following recipes and portioning requirements
- participate as a team player in preparation and service
- report maintenance needs for kitchen equipment
- maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards
- observe and test foods to ensure proper cooking
- portion, arrange, and garnish food plates for guest delivery
- consult with Executive Chef and Sous Chef to plan menus and estimate food consumption
- demonstrate excellent attendance
