Job Description
Regal Cinemas is a leading entertainment company specializing in providing an exceptional movie-going experience to audiences across the United States. As a prominent theater chain, Regal is committed to creating a welcoming environment where guests can enjoy the latest films with outstanding service and state-of-the-art technology. With a vast network of locations, Regal prides itself on its dedication to customer satisfaction, innovation, and a safe, enjoyable atmosphere for families, friends, and movie enthusiasts of all ages.
The Floor Staff position at Regal Cinemas is a crucial role that ensures guests receive excellent service tailored to their needs while maintaining the overall operational efficiency of the theater. Classified based on theatre needs and employee availability, Floor Staff can be variable hour, part-time fixed, part-time regular, or full-time hourly employees. Their main responsibility is to represent Regal's mission and policies, providing attentive and friendly assistance throughout the guest’s visit. Depending on scheduling, Floor Staff may work in the Box Office, Concession Stand, or as an Usher, engaging in a variety of tasks that promote a smooth and delightful customer experience.
This role demands employees to uphold a professional appearance in line with the company dress code and to demonstrate dependability through regular and consistent attendance. In addition, they must be prepared to handle emergency situations if called upon, perform general cleaning duties to maintain a clean environment, and interact with guests in a courteous and helpful manner. The Floor Staff is pivotal in fostering a welcoming atmosphere that aligns with Regal Cinemas' reputation for excellence.
The Box Office duties include operating the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately, handling cash, credit cards, gift cards, and redeemed tickets responsibly. Staff are expected to promote premium viewing experiences such as 3D, RPX, and IMAX, as well as the Regal Crown Club rewards program, enhancing guest engagement. Compliance with the MPAA rating system and company policies is mandatory when selling tickets, ensuring an appropriate experience for all audiences. Customer service extends to responding to phone inquiries and providing clear, friendly assistance.
Concession Stand team members also operate the POS system and manage inventory while preparing and cleaning concession equipment. Upselling and suggestive selling techniques are employed to optimize sales, and strict adherence to local, state, and federal food safety laws is essential. Additionally, if alcohol sales are involved, staff must maintain all necessary certifications and comply with legal age requirements. Staff must complete training modules, including those on sexual harassment and discrimination, underscoring Regal’s commitment to a respectful workplace.
As Ushers, employees help with ticket collection, crowd management, and directing guests, including inspecting bags for security when needed. Monitoring auditorium picture and sound quality, enforcing rating compliance, and maintaining cleanliness of auditoriums and common areas are key duties. Ushers report any irregularities to management and assist with opening and closing procedures, contributing to a secure, comfortable theater environment.
Regal Cinemas values employees who can communicate effectively, solve problems efficiently, and work well under pressure. Physical demands include standing, walking, lifting up to 60 pounds occasionally, and performing various movements required for operational tasks. This role offers a dynamic, team-oriented work setting where dedication and a positive attitude contribute to the ultimate guest experience.
