In this role as a Customer Service Associate at Kohl's, you will be instrumental in delivering outstanding customer service through efficient point of sale (POS) and customer service processes. This position centers around the consistent execution of operational tasks while enhancing the customer experience by providing fast, friendly, and courteous service. Your responsibilities will encompass engaging with customers to offer assistance, operating the cash register, accurately handling payments, and ensuring merchandise is handled properly. Meeting or exceeding individual goals related to credit and loyalty programs is also a critical part of this role.

Additionally, you will support inventory accuracy by completing all necessary POS and merchandise disposition activities. The role includes supporting the training of new service team hires by teaching process best practices, proper POS procedures, and effective use of available tools, all while aligning with Kohl's brand standards. Participation in daily service processes such as register and cash balancing, managing change orders, and replenishing supplies ensures smooth operational flow.

Job Requirements

Must be 16 years of age or older
Flexible availability including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment
Willingness to follow company policies and procedures
Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Reliable and punctual
No prior retail experience required

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Strong verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to multi-task with strong attention to detail
Client facing retail or service industry experience preferred but not required

Job Duties

Engage customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services
Operate a cash register, scan items, bag merchandise and properly handle different methods of payment
Accurately and efficiently execute point of sale and customer service standards based on company guidelines providing courteous, friendly, fast and efficient service
Meet or exceed individual goals such as credit and loyalty program targets
Support inventory accuracy through accurate completion of all required point of sale and merchandise disposition practices
Support the training process for new hires on the service team, including teaching process best practices, proper point of sale procedures, and using available tools and resources while meeting Kohl's brand standards
Participate in daily service processes including register and cash balancing, change orders, and replenishing supplies
