The Barista role at Blue Bottle Coffee is more than just making coffee; it is about crafting a memorable and inclusive coffee experience for every guest. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Eligible to work legally in the United States
- Able to stand and walk for long periods
- Ability to use hands for precision tasks
- Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 pounds
- Capable of bending, twisting, reaching, and climbing as needed
- Ability to smell, taste, listen, and communicate effectively
- Flexible availability including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Job Qualifications
- Basic math and computer skills
- Passionate about coffee, food, and creating inclusive hospitality experiences
- Reliable and consistent with punctuality
- Thoughtful and able to anticipate guests’ needs
- Detail-oriented with a love for honing craft in coffee and food
- Excited about new experiences and possess a can-do attitude
- Eligible to work in the United States and 18 years of age or older
- Flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Job Duties
- Deliver exceptional hospitality to guests, teammates, vendors, and suppliers
- Make and serve a selection of delicious beverages using various brewing and preparation methods
- Prepare and serve delicious food items
- Stay knowledgeable about current beverage and food offerings and preparation techniques through tastings, cuppings, and trainings
- Regularly taste beverages to ensure quality and uphold standards
- Create community in cafes by sharing joy and coffee knowledge with guests and inspiring teammates
- Support team operations by maintaining cleanliness, organizing stations, and other tasks to keep the cafe running smoothly
- Promote and support company-wide sustainability goals
- Uphold and follow all health, food safety, and safety guidelines
- Complete Blue Bottle Academy training and 90-day validation post-hire
