The William Vale Hotel, part of this distinguished portfolio, is currently seeking a Director of Catering & Events to lead their Private Events Department. This full-time role offers a competitive salary range between $100,000 and $150,000 and benefits from the group's commitment to employee well-being, including health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, paid time off, 401(k), commuter benefits, and dining discounts. The Director of Catering & Events is a central figure in elevating guest experiences by embodying the hospitality philosophy of NoHo Hospitality Group. This role demands leadership in managing catering and event operations to ensure high-quality service and financial success. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, sales-savvy, and possess strong communication skills, enabling them to interact warmly and effectively with clients and staff alike.

In this position, the Director is responsible for directing and implementing service standards, managing departmental staff, providing training, and ensuring operational and financial goals are met. This leadership role is expected to exemplify the NHG hospitality ethos, particularly by maintaining exceptional guest relations and fostering a cooperative team environment. The position involves multitasking, strategic planning, problem resolution, and attention to detail, all performed with a positive and professional approach. Additionally, the Director must be capable of using property management systems for data entry and information retrieval, maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information, and exhibiting flexibility with working hours and responsibilities. Ultimately, the role supports NHG's vision to deliver premium events that exceed expectations and uphold the prestige of The William Vale and the NoHo Hospitality Group brand.

Job Qualifications

  • college graduate
  • four years experience as a private events manager or supervisor preferably in fine dining restaurant group or hotel
  • previous guest relations experience
  • highly developed interpersonal skills
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills with fluency in english
  • multilingualism considered an asset
  • strong leadership skills
  • highly developed organizational and multitasking abilities
  • sound administrative skills
  • excellent problem resolution skills
  • outstanding listening skills
  • knowledge of various food service styles
  • familiarity with food and beverage cost controls
