Job Description

Job Options Inc. (JOI) is a reputable nonprofit organization dedicated to providing meaningful employment and job training opportunities, particularly focusing on individuals with disabilities. As part of the AbilityOne Program, JOI is among the largest sources of employment for people with significant disabilities in the United States. The organization proudly supports over 440 nonprofit entities, delivering high-quality products and services primarily to federal government clients. JOI operates with a strong commitment to inclusivity, diversity, and the empowerment of its workforce, maintaining compliance with stringent policies and collective bargaining agreements to uphold both quality standards and fair labor practices.

The current opening is for a supervisory role under the direction of the JOI Project Manager and occasionally the Sodexo General Manager. This position is pivotal in managing and coordinating employees to ensure that all aspects of the statement of work (SOW) are successfully completed in alignment with the contract terms. The role involves supervising the JOI staff responsible for meal services as directed by Sodexo culinary staff, maintaining cleanliness of dining spaces, restrooms, and sculleries, restocking consumables, waste management, and outdoor area maintenance as specified in the SOW.

In this capacity, the supervisor will conduct daily facility walk-throughs to verify that tasks meet contract standards, ensuring that hygiene and sanitation expectations are rigorously upheld. The supervisor will train staff on hygiene, sanitation, and safety procedures, provide ongoing coaching, and monitor housekeeping duties including restroom maintenance. This role also includes direct customer engagement through routine "table touches" to solicit feedback and enhance service quality. Additionally, responsibilities include assisting in onboarding new employees with necessary training and paperwork, ensuring safety training before commencement of duties, and coordinating with the management team to prepare new hires effectively.

The supervisor must work closely with Sodexo management to guarantee that employees are well-equipped with supplies needed for their duties, manage accurate documentation and compliance with government reporting requirements, and address employee behavioral concerns proactively. They will facilitate open communication between site management and their team, adhere to company policies on uniforms and safety practices, and utilize company HRIS and timekeeping systems for performance tracking and incident documentation. A key emphasis of this role is acting as an ambassador for JOI, promoting employment and training opportunities with a special focus on employees with disabilities.

Supervisory responsibilities include managing JOI employees, leads, and supervisors at the worksite, handling work planning, performance appraisal, reward and discipline management, conflict resolution, and ensuring all activities comply with budget and AbilityOne Program regulations. The ideal candidate for this role possesses strong leadership skills, a solid background in foodservice management, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and employee development within a nonprofit environment serving the federal government.
