UW Health is the integrated health system of the University of Wisconsin–Madison, dedicated to providing exceptional patient care, education, and research. Serving over 800,000 patients annually, UW Health operates six hospitals and more than 90 outpatient clinics across Wisconsin, Illinois, and Michigan.

Comprehensive Medical Services

UW Health offers a wide range of services, including specialty care, fertility services, emergency and urgent care, and neurosciences. Patients can access online services such as MyChart for appointments, billing, and medical records.

Hospital Facilities

The flagship facility, University Hospital, is a 614-bed academic regional referral center located on the western edge of the UW–Madison campus in Madison, Wisconsin.

It is an American College of Surgeons designated Level I adult and pediatric trauma center, one of only two in Wisconsin.

Adjacent to University Hospital is the American Family Children’s Hospital, a 110-bed pediatric hospital providing comprehensive pediatric specialties and subspecialties.

This hospital serves infants, children, teens, and young adults aged 0–21 throughout Wisconsin and surrounding states. It features the only pediatric Level 1 Trauma Center in the region.

UW Health also operates UW Health East Madison Hospital, an 83-bed hospital and emergency room located on the northeast side of Madison.

The campus includes the UW Health Rehabilitation Hospital and the UW Health East Clinic.

Outpatient Clinics

With more than 90 primary and specialty care clinics located throughout Dane County and surrounding areas, UW Health providers and staff are dedicated to providing an exceptional patient and family experience in the communities they serve.

UW Health operates multiple hospitals and clinics in the following locations:

• Madison, WI, USA – headquarters with flagship facilities including University Hospital and American Family Children’s Hospital.
• Rockford, IL, USA – UW Health SwedishAmerican Hospital, serving the Greater Rockford area and north central Illinois.
• Middleton, Wisconsin – outpatient clinic location.
