Founded in 1978 by David Schweid in Carlstadt, New Jersey, the company has built a legacy rooted in a passion for delivering "The Very Best Burger" to consumers nationwide.

The company's heritage traces back to the late 1800s when Harry Schweid began selling quality meats to butchers and restaurants in New York City's Lower East Side. By the 1950s, his son Sam continued this tradition, establishing a successful meat shop in Harlem.

David Schweid, Sam's son, took the family's longstanding heritage in the meat purveyor industry and founded Schweid & Sons, focusing exclusively on ground beef. Today, David's sons, Jamie and Brad, continue this commitment to producing the best-tasting, highest-quality burgers.

The Katana (Wagyu) blend features highly-marbled USDA Wagyu® beef without added hormones or antibiotics, while the Grassfed Standard is humanely handled grass-fed cattle, offering a healthier burger without compromising flavor.

The company has received a Safe Quality Food (SQF) Level 3 Certification, the highest level given by the World Standard for Safety initiative, ensuring consistent quality and safety in their products.
