Job Description

Schweid & Sons is a family-owned and operated premium ground beef company with a proud heritage spanning four generations. The company specializes in supplying top-quality beef to Retail, Foodservice, and National Account customers across the United States. Known for their commitment to quality, customer service, and innovation in protein manufacturing, Schweid & Sons has established itself as a trusted brand in the beef industry. Their dedication to excellence is reflected in their meticulous approach to premium meat production and their continuous efforts to meet the evolving needs of consumers in various market segments, including retail grocery, foodservice, and national accounts. The company prides itself on fostering a culture built on core values such as trust, respect, innovation, passion, and pride, enabling a collaborative work environment where employees are encouraged to contribute ideas and grow their careers.

We are currently seeking a Food CPG Marketing Manager who is passionate about executing strategic brand initiatives for a beloved premium brand. This role requires a marketing professional with over five years of food CPG experience who demonstrates a data-first approach to marketing execution paired with a strong passion for brand building. The ideal candidate will thrive at the intersection of brand management and product innovation, translating core and new product ideas into compelling go-to-market strategies. This position reports to the Director of Marketing and serves as the essential link between the Innovation team and the broader Marketing group, responsible for executing brand strategy, positioning, and messaging for the entire Schweid & Sons portfolio. The Marketing Manager will empower channel owners to bring their marketing plans to life effectively, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams such as Innovation, Sales, and external creative agencies to ensure campaigns remain on-brand, strategically sound, and within budget.

Key responsibilities include leading consumer insight development by commissioning and managing research to uncover critical data related to consumer attitudes, usage, purchase behavior, and unmet needs. The Marketing Manager will continuously monitor industry trends in protein, beef, chicken, premium meat, convenience, and health and wellness categories. They will translate complex consumer, category, and competitive data—including syndicated information from sources like Circana and NielsenIQ—into actionable marketing insights that inform brand narratives, packaging claims, and sales materials. Additionally, this role manages the marketing budget prudently to optimize resource allocation.

The position involves end-to-end ownership of brand strategy and visual identity, including executing brand narrative, messaging frameworks, and packaging optimizations for new product launches and core offerings across retail and foodservice channels. The Marketing Manager will define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as brand awareness, trial, repeat purchase, and penetration, adapting strategies as necessary based on ongoing analysis of consumer panel data. They will also spearhead go-to-market activations by developing and deploying campaign assets that drive awareness and consumer trial.

This role demands strong project management skills, with responsibilities ranging from managing the complete creative campaign development process and agency relationships to crafting compelling, insight-led creative briefs. The ideal candidate is passionate about food and storytelling, highly collaborative, detail-oriented, organized, and adept at juggling multiple projects efficiently. The role is onsite in East Rutherford, NJ, with a competitive salary range of $110,000 to $125,000 per year, bonus eligibility, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, vision, paid time off, and retirement plans. Schweid & Sons values diversity, equity, and inclusion, and provides reasonable accommodations to support fair hiring practices.
