Job Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally
- Frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing 10 to 20 pounds
- Capability to perform physical tasks including walking, standing, climbing ladders, pushing, and pulling
- Manual dexterity
- Ability to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, handle, feel, talk, hear, and see
- Exposure to human body fluids, disease, infection, lab chemicals, and hazardous materials
- Ability to wear protective or safety equipment
- Must speak clearly and express ideas effectively
- Physical presence onsite is essential
- Normal or corrected hearing and vision
- Ability to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Ability to follow and understand verbal and written communication
- Effective verbal communication skills
- Ability to read, write legibly, and comprehend English
- Experience in cleaning or janitorial services preferred
- Familiarity with hospital or healthcare facility cleaning standards beneficial
Job Duties
- Daily cleans assigned areas following established cleaning procedures
- Cleans occupied and discharged patient rooms including walls, ceilings, and furnishings
- Dusts, damp mops, vacuums floor and carpeted areas
- Collects waste and routinely cleans waste receptacles
- Cleans compactor area and handles collection and distribution of linen
- Operates cleaning equipment such as buffers, wringers, scrubbers, and vacuums
- Reports broken furniture or equipment repair needs immediately
- Maintains secured access to medication storage areas and alerts appropriate personnel if security breaches are observed
- Provides training for new hires and others on cleaning procedures
