Nestled within a dynamic taproom environment, Woody's offers a unique blend of casual dining and craft beverage experiences that cater to a diverse clientele seeking delicious food paired with a welcoming atmosphere. The Island Market organization prioritizes not only quality and innovation in food and beverage offerings but also fosters a collaborative and professional environment where employees can thrive and contribute meaningfully to the brand's success. As a year-round full-time establishment, Woody's Taphouse stands out for its dedication to culinary creativity and guest satisfaction, making it an exciting place for passionate food professionals to build their careers.
The Woody's Team Lead role is a pivotal leadership position, directly responsible for the day-to-day culinary operations and ensuring a stellar guest experience. Reporting to the Beverage Manager and collaborating closely with Island Market leadership, the Team Lead takes charge of menu development, food preparation standards, kitchen coordination, and staff leadership. This role demands a hands-on, organized, and creative individual who can maintain high-quality standards in a fast-paced taproom setting while leading a small team effectively. The Team Lead is tasked with developing and updating the food menu, including seasonal and specialty items, while continuously aligning offerings with current food trends and customer preferences. Beyond menu planning, the position involves overseeing food preparation, production, and service execution with an emphasis on consistency, quality, and presentation.
Operational responsibilities extend to managing inventory levels, ordering, product rotation, food safety compliance, and minimizing waste to support cost-effective kitchen operations. Leading and training the food support staff and fostering a professional, positive work atmosphere are key components of the role. The Team Lead ensures timely and efficient culinary workflows and works in tandem with beverage and market leadership to enhance overall taproom performance.
In terms of guest experience, the Team Lead guarantees a welcoming and engaging environment, maintaining high standards for food presentation and service quality. This leadership role also includes addressing customer feedback with professionalism and ensuring effective use of the point-of-sale system to support seamless service and operations. Additionally, the Team Lead supports promotional events, tastings, and special taproom activities, upholds cleanliness and organization in both kitchen and service areas, and contributes to pricing and menu profitability assessments. While primarily focused on Woody's Taphouse, the Team Lead also plays a valuable role in advancing the safety, professionalism, and operational success of the broader Island Market organization. This role is ideal for a culinary professional passionate about food and community who thrives in a collaborative, fast-moving environment and seeks to make a significant impact through leadership and innovation.
