The role available at Whale's Rib is a vital kitchen position focused primarily on dishwashing and kitchen sanitation. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all plateware, glassware, silverware, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils are meticulously cleaned and sanitized according to the restaurant’s specific protocols. This full-time position demands physical stamina as it involves standing and walking throughout the entire shift, frequent bending and stooping, and lifting heavy loads consistently. Individuals in this role must be comfortable working in high-temperature environments, sometimes damp, and be able to safely handle hot plates, pots, pans, and sharp kitchen utensils. Additionally, the role includes prep work, opening and closing responsibilities, and beautification tasks to maintain operational excellence. The dish machine must be prepared and maintained throughout the business hours to ensure continuous kitchen workflow.

Job Requirements
- Can physically stand/walk 100 percent of shift
- Can reach, bend, stoop
- Can immerse hands in water frequently, diluted with chemical solutions
- Ability to speak, read and write English
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs. several times per shift, lift these heavy loads to high shelves, coolers, freezers
- Work in damp, high temperature environment indoors and minimally outdoors
- Work safely with hot plates, pots, pans
- Work safely with sharp knives and utensils
- Support fellow employees as needed
- Complete and pass food safety certification program, in compliance with Whale's Rib and Florida statutes

Job Duties
- Follows all company safety and sanitation policies and procedural training
- Washes and provides clean and sanitized plateware, glassware, silverware, pots, pans, kitchen utensils using Flanigan's sanitation policies
- Cleans and sanitizes throughout shift
- Maintain kitchen area cleanliness
- sweeps, mops, removes debris from floor, etc
- Perform assigned prep work, opening/closing duties, beautification duties
- Prepares and maintains dish machine at opening, during business hours, and at closing
