- Ability to pass Benihana chef training program
- Previous experience as chef or cook preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexible shifts including evenings and weekends

- Ability to stand for extended periods

Job Duties
- Greets and welcomes guests within 15 minutes of their teppan order
- Performs a cooking show for assigned tables ensuring interaction with guests is appropriate and courteous
- Provides guests with information about Benihana foods during cooking or upon inquiry
- Responds promptly and courteously to guest requests
- Asks guests for cooking preference and follows guest instructions
- Prepares meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items for cooking using various kitchen equipment
- Performs shift opening and closing duties such as cleaning refrigeration units, gaskets, chef carts and floors
- Maintains kitchen, teppan cooking areas, equipment and food storage clean, sanitary and organized
- Adheres to company standards on food portioning, cooking methods, quality, recipes, service, and policies
- Prepares foods according to portion standards including battering, breading, seasoning and marinating
- Ensures proper food presentation and garnishes
- Handles, stores, labels and rotates foods following safety protocols and FIFO
- Uses knives, utensils, and equipment for food preparation
- Adheres to company guidelines on alcoholic beverage service
- Presents a clean and neat appearance and courteous manner
- Notifies manager on duty of unsatisfied guests or accidents
- Participates in memorable guest special occasion celebrations
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
