Job Description

Pur Noire Urban Wineries is a dynamic and premium wine brand dedicated to delivering ultra-premium wine and unforgettable experiences. Known as Houston's first and only Black Owned winery, Pur Noire has established its presence in Downtown Houston and is expanding with a second location in Dallas. The new Dallas tasting room will be situated in the vibrant Victory Park district, conveniently close to the American Airlines Center, making it a prime spot for both locals and visitors looking to indulge in fine wines and exceptional service. The opening, scheduled for June 2024, brings a wave of excitement as the brand continues to grow and capture the interest of wine enthusiasts and novices alike.

This position is for a Tasting Room Associate who will be an essential part of Pur Noire's team. The role primarily involves conducting wine tastings, educating guests about the diverse Pur Noire wine offerings, and driving sales by presenting the brand in a compelling and knowledgeable manner. Associates will deliver impeccable customer service daily during hours of operation from 1:00 pm to 9:00 or 10:00 pm. The ideal candidate will have a passion for wine and an eagerness to grow within the wine industry alongside a rapidly expanding company. Friendly and reliable individuals with experience in wine sales or service are highly sought. Although a WSET Level 2 certificate or an equivalent qualification is preferred, comprehensive training will be provided to all hires.

The role offers a long-term career opportunity for those interested in the wine business, with the chance to build valuable expertise and forge connections within a unique urban winery environment. Compensation includes a competitive base pay starting at $14 an hour after a 90-day probationary period, plus tips and commission on wine sales, resulting in an average total compensation of $20 to $26 per hour. This role represents more than a typical retail or hospitality position; it is an invitation to become part of an exciting brand dedicated to quality, culture, and community engagement through the art of wine.
