As Omakase Sushi Restaurant prepares to expand with a new location opening in Menlo Park, CA this spring, they are seeking an experienced Head Sushi Chef to lead the new kitchen team. This full-time role comes with a competitive hourly rate ranging from $35 to $55, based on experience, and offers flexible shifts from 5:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., enabling a balanced work-life schedule. The restaurant values bilingual communication, with English and Japanese being essential languages for this position to ensure seamless interaction with both customers and team members.

The Head Sushi Chef will play a crucial role in maintaining the high standards of sushi preparation and presentation for which Omakase is known. This position requires at least two years of experience working in a high-end sushi or Japanese-style restaurant, demonstrating excellent knife skills and the ability to serve customers directly at the sushi counter. The successful candidate must also possess strong leadership qualities, including the willingness and capability to train other chefs, foster a collaborative and efficient team environment, and uphold the restaurant's strict culinary standards.

Job Requirements

  • At least two years of experience as a sushi chef in a Japanese or sushi style restaurant
