Job Requirements
- full-time availability with open schedule
- ability to follow company policies and food safety standards
- experience in high-volume or guest-facing culinary roles
- knowledge of proper food and drink handling and storage
- culinary education or equivalent experience preferred
- physical ability to maneuver in a busy restaurant environment and operate basic kitchen equipment
- willingness to learn and progress through different sushi preparation stations
Job Qualifications
- 1-2 years culinary experience or culinary education preferred
- 1 or more years of experience working in high-volume and/or guest-facing food service preferred
- knowledge in proper food and drink handling and storage
- ability to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment
- excellent communication and teamwork skills
- commitment to sustainability and food safety best practices
Job Duties
- Following company policies, state and food safety and sanitation standards
- maintaining clean and organized workstations by always practicing safe and sanitary food handling
- continued education surrounding Japanese cuisine and beverages
- collaborating with kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure consistent and timely preparation of ingredients and menu items
- progressing through sushi stations including roll case, front case, and wheel to master sushi roll, nigiri, and sashimi production
- interacting with guests at the sushi bar to create personalized dining experiences
- other additional duties as assigned specific to the position
