Job Requirements

  • Successfully pass the company’s sushi chef training program and cooking procedures
  • Previous experience as sushi chef highly desirable
  • Culinary degree a plus
  • Approved food handling training as required by local laws
  • Ability to greet and interact with guests courteously
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards
  • Available to perform shift opening and closing duties
  • Compliance with company’s food handling and safety protocols

Job Qualifications

  • Successful completion of the company’s sushi chef training program
  • Previous experience as a sushi chef highly desirable
  • Culinary degree is a plus

Job Duties

  • Greet and welcome guests at the sushi bar and lounge area
  • Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items using broilers, ovens, grills and fryers
  • Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests and provide information about food
  • Ensure guests are satisfied with food quality and service
  • Perform shift opening and closing duties including cleaning sushi cases, cutting boards, equipment, and floors
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen, sushi bar equipment, refrigerators and food storage areas
  • Report kitchen and sushi equipment or maintenance issues to management and head sushi chef
  • Adhere to food portioning, cooking methods, quality standards, kitchen recipes, safety and sanitation standards
  • Handle ready-to-eat foods properly in compliance with safety regulations
  • Use knives and tools to prepare food items accurately
  • Present food with proper garnishes following company guidelines
  • Notify management immediately if guests are not satisfied or if accidents occur
  • Assist in special occasion celebrations and guest interactions
  • Participate in sushi training programs and assist other sushi helpers as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
