As a Store Floor Lead at Sur La Table, you will be pivotal in driving the success of the retail store by leading and motivating the sales floor team, ensuring an exceptional customer experience and operational excellence. This leadership position supports the General Manager or Store Manager in achieving sales targets and operational goals, serving as the Manager on Duty to oversee smooth daily operations. In this role, you will inspire and coach team members, foster a guest-obsessed culture, and ensure all store activities align with company policies and visual merchandising standards. This part-time role typically involves 20 to 25 working hours per week with a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays. Candidates must be at least 21 years old with retail management experience, preferably within specialty or culinary retail settings. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and retail management systems is preferred, alongside excellent communication and decision-making skills.

The Store Floor Lead will also manage inventory processes such as receiving stock, marking items as out of stock, and handling return authorizations. Physical requirements include the ability to stand for extended periods, move about the store, lift up to 50 pounds, and operate necessary equipment including POS systems and computers.

Job Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older

Job Duties

  • Lead the sales floor and oversee daily store operations as Manager on Duty
  • Provide in-the-moment coaching and feedback to elevate performance and team engagement
  • Support onboarding, training, and development of new associates
  • Represent Sur La Table’s brand by creating memorable, educational experiences for customers
  • Handle customer concerns and resolve issues promptly
  • Support store sales goals by identifying customer needs and maximizing selling opportunities
  • Manage inventory processes including receiving, marking out of stock, and return authorizations
  • Ensure the selling floor is stocked and merchandised according to visual standards
  • Enforce compliance with company policies and wage and hour laws
