Job Requirements

  • Possess an undergraduate or higher degree from an accredited college
  • Have at least 3 years experience in a similar role as Sous Chef in high volume or resort/golf course environment
  • Obtain SERV Safe Food Safety Management Training certification within 60 days of hire
  • Obtain TIPS Certification within 60 days of hire
  • Demonstrate exceptional culinary skills and leadership abilities
  • Ability to work long hours including weekends and holidays during peak seasons
  • Maintain compliance with health, safety, and sanitation guidelines
  • Demonstrate proficiency in office productivity software
  • Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions
  • Possess strong communication and human resource skills
  • Be able to train, motivate, and mentor kitchen staff

Job Qualifications

  • Undergraduate or higher degree from an accredited college with major coursework in business administration and culinary fields
  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a high volume and resort or golf course establishment
  • Must possess or attain SERV Safe Food Safety Management Training certification within 60 days of hire
  • Must attain TIPS Certification within 60 days of hire
  • Demonstrated culinary skills and leadership abilities
  • Strong communication and public relations skills
  • Ability to train and mentor staff
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Proficient in common office productivity software
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain kitchen efficiency
  • Strong detail orientation and accuracy

Job Duties

  • Assist in designing and implementing creative and innovative menus that showcase the restaurant's concept and meet guest expectations
  • Execute and supervise the preparation, cooking, and plating of dishes to maintain consistent taste, presentation, and quality
  • Oversee the proper handling and storage of ingredients, ensuring food safety and sanitation standards are met
  • Lead by example, motivating and guiding kitchen staff to perform at their best and adhere to established recipes, techniques, and guidelines
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef to create an efficient schedule, allocate tasks, and manage staffing levels to meet business demands
  • Ensure smooth kitchen operations by coordinating and communicating effectively with various departments, including front-of-house staff and management
