Job Requirements
- Possess an undergraduate or higher degree from an accredited college
- Have at least 3 years experience in a similar role as Sous Chef in high volume or resort/golf course environment
- Obtain SERV Safe Food Safety Management Training certification within 60 days of hire
- Obtain TIPS Certification within 60 days of hire
- Demonstrate exceptional culinary skills and leadership abilities
- Ability to work long hours including weekends and holidays during peak seasons
- Maintain compliance with health, safety, and sanitation guidelines
- Demonstrate proficiency in office productivity software
- Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions
- Possess strong communication and human resource skills
- Be able to train, motivate, and mentor kitchen staff
Job Qualifications
- Undergraduate or higher degree from an accredited college with major coursework in business administration and culinary fields
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a high volume and resort or golf course establishment
- Must possess or attain SERV Safe Food Safety Management Training certification within 60 days of hire
- Must attain TIPS Certification within 60 days of hire
- Demonstrated culinary skills and leadership abilities
- Strong communication and public relations skills
- Ability to train and mentor staff
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Proficient in common office productivity software
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain kitchen efficiency
- Strong detail orientation and accuracy
Job Duties
- Assist in designing and implementing creative and innovative menus that showcase the restaurant's concept and meet guest expectations
- Execute and supervise the preparation, cooking, and plating of dishes to maintain consistent taste, presentation, and quality
- Oversee the proper handling and storage of ingredients, ensuring food safety and sanitation standards are met
- Lead by example, motivating and guiding kitchen staff to perform at their best and adhere to established recipes, techniques, and guidelines
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
- Collaborate with the Head Chef to create an efficient schedule, allocate tasks, and manage staffing levels to meet business demands
- Ensure smooth kitchen operations by coordinating and communicating effectively with various departments, including front-of-house staff and management
