Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3-5 years in a supervisory chef position or equivalent experience
  • Professional Food Manager Certification
  • Ability to supervise and train kitchen staff
  • Knowledge of large batch cooking techniques
  • Strong organizational and scheduling skills
  • Ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3-5 years in a supervisory chef position or equivalent experience
  • Professional Food Manager Certification
  • Chef apprentice preferred

Job Duties

  • Supervises and assists in preparation and presentation of all food items
  • Ensures food is fresh and prepared in a timely fashion
  • Schedules employees and production of food items according to the projected attendance
  • Responsible for ordering food materials and supplies to feed the projected number of guests
  • Ensures waste is at a minimum and food cost targets are met each month
  • Trains staff in production and presentation of products
  • Maintains recipe books and training logs
  • Develops new recipes for special events and restaurant menus
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment
  • Places work orders for equipment repair
  • Ensures floors are clean and dry
  • Ensures walls are cleaned regularly
  • Manages cleanliness and working order of coolers
  • Participates actively in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities
  • Performs other duties as assigned
