The Sous Chef position at JOEY Restaurants is a pivotal role responsible for directly impacting the success of a multi-million-dollar restaurant operation. In this role, you will be accountable for meeting and managing labor budgets, maintaining a pristine and safe working environment, and upholding the highest standards of food quality across all kitchen areas. The position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from $68,000 to $75,000, with the exact compensation depending on experience and other relevant factors, in accordance with applicable laws. Job Requirements

  • 3+ years culinary experience
  • possession or ability to obtain valid local and/or state Food Handler permits
  • ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods
  • frequent bending, reaching, and stretching
  • ability to perform repetitive manual tasks
  • ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • willingness to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • 3+ years culinary experience
  • valid local and/or state Food Handler permits or ability to obtain

Job Duties

  • Support your team in the preparation of all ingredients and food products to fulfill prep lists, par levels, and recipe standards
  • utilize various preparation and cooking methods to ensure the quick, precise creation of menu items according to JOEY recipes
  • maintain prep and cooking areas in a clean, sanitary and safe manner
  • ensure clean, organized, and maintained refrigerators, cooler drawers, ovens, preparation, and dry storage areas
  • train partners on safe usage of kitchen equipment and cleaning compounds
  • report equipment problems and maintenance issues immediately
  • fulfill recruitment needs and select and retain your team
  • support training and development of technical knowledge and execution of JOEY standards
  • communicate daily focus and feedback to partners
  • manage in-store budgets, food costs, and labor
  • coach the kitchen team to deliver Iconic Hospitality
  • follow all food service and handling safety precautions and procedures
