Job Requirements

  • HS diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Prior culinary education or professional experience required
  • Valid Food Handlers Card and relevant certifications required or ability to obtain
  • Ability to perform the Gila Way guest service principles
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Pass pre-employment alcohol/drug test
  • Pass background check
  • No felony convictions or disqualifying offenses

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor's degree with major concentration in food preparation, management, nutrition, or related field preferred
  • Prior experience in a professional culinary education or working in high-volume fine dining or catering facility preferred
  • Experience in volume feeding, ala carte, fine dining, catering, baking and pastry, purchasing storage and handling
  • Valid Gila River Environmental Health Food Handlers Card, Alcohol Awareness Certification, Blood-Borne Pathogens training required or ability to acquire
  • Excellent guest service skills
  • Strong telephone etiquette
  • Self-starter with ability to follow-up and complete tasks timely
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral
  • Knowledge of enterprise policies and governmental regulations relevant to role required or ability to acquire within one year

Job Duties

  • Promotes and provides excellent guest service experiences to both internal and external guests
  • Responsible for management of the assigned kitchen operation
  • Ensures training of assigned shift kitchen staff is conducted in a timely manner
  • Communicates with all shift employees to help them understand their job descriptions and company policies
  • Reviews all sanitation and production charts for the kitchen operation
  • Maintains fiscal controls for profit and loss purposes
  • Performs other special projects and duties as assigned
