Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • experience with food production and service
  • knowledge of sanitation and safety as required by local, state, and federal health departments
  • previous supervisory experience
  • ability to communicate effectively with residents and staff
  • compassion for elderly individuals
  • ability to work independently and prioritize workload
  • must maintain a current driver’s license and comply with auto policy
  • ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds frequently
  • ability to lift residents with assistance over 100 pounds
  • must handle hazardous materials safely according to policies and SDS
  • must demonstrate a servant heart and attitude according to the mission statement
  • ability to manage stress constructively

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • experience with food production and service
  • knowledge of sanitation and safety procedures
  • previous supervisory experience
  • excellent organizational, motivational, and leadership skills
  • ability to work independently and as a team
  • strong communication skills
  • compassion for elderly residents
  • appropriate health certifications

Job Duties

  • assist the Culinary Services Director with staff scheduling to ensure adequate staffing on each shift
  • assist the Culinary Services Director with handling call-offs and absences following community policies and procedures
  • provide on-call responsibilities as needed and scheduled by the Culinary Service Director
  • support the Culinary Services Director with recruiting, screening, and selecting staff
  • assist the Culinary Services Director with payroll functions such as missed punches and approving time off requests
  • assist the Culinary Services Director with coaching employees and evaluating employee performance
  • support the Culinary Services Director in training team members on technical issues, policies, and procedures
