Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Experience in food production and service
  • Knowledge of sanitation and safety protocols
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Compassion for elderly residents
  • Ability to handle stressful situations calmly
  • Current health certifications as required by regulations
  • Ability to manage physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Must be able to assist in lifting residents with help over 100 pounds
  • Valid driver's license and compliance with auto policy
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
  • Adherence to safety standards and policies
  • Ability to follow community guidelines using good judgment and common sense

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Assist culinary services director with staff scheduling to ensure adequate staffing on each shift
  • Handle call-offs and absences following community policies and procedures
  • Provide on-call responsibilities as scheduled by the culinary services director
  • Support recruitment, screening, and selection of compassionate staff
  • Assist with payroll functions such as missed punches and approving time off requests
  • Coach employees and evaluate performance
  • Train team members on technical issues, policies, and procedures
  • Assist with budget adherence through compliant procurement and production standards
  • Place orders and manage inventory, invoices, and employee meal counts
  • Ensure all cleaning, side-work, and prep duties are completed as assigned
  • Maintain safe proper storage of goods
  • Attend staff meetings as required
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment following all policies and laws
  • Handle chemicals safely according to policies and SDS
  • Maintain confidentiality of residents' personal information
  • Maintain professional appearance and demeanor
  • Provide positive customer experience and demonstrate honesty and integrity
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Indirectly supervise culinary services staff under the director's guidance
