Job Requirements

  • bilingual (Cantonese and English)
  • must be able to read and write Chinese
  • have experience with both Asian and Western cooking
  • must be 18+ years of age
  • food preparation and production experience required
  • ability to meet all health requirements
  • must be willing to take 2-step TB test

  • +3 years of experience as a cook or line/prep cook
  • preferred experience as a sous chef
  • preferred experience managing food inventory
  • must be 18+ years of age

Job Duties

  • Preparing meals
  • supports a disciplined environment and provides supervision in the absence of the Culinary Services Director
  • manages food inventory appropriately and sets up work areas/stations with all necessary supplies in advance of meal service
  • performs portion control and minimizes waste to keep cost within forecasted ranges for recipes
  • understands and maintains all necessary documentation including time/temperature logs, menus, invoices
  • upholds cleanliness standards
  • helping serve residents
  • train and mentor new employees
  • opportunity for growth to Culinary Services Director
