The role of the Sous Chef at Bourbon & Bones Lounge is crucial for maintaining the high standards and smooth operation of the kitchen. As a key leadership position, the Sous Chef will work closely with the Executive Chef to manage all kitchen activities, ensuring that all menu items are prepared to perfection and delivered with consistent quality and presentation. This full-time role requires a proactive and skilled culinary professional with strong leadership capabilities to oversee kitchen staff, manage inventory, and maintain stringent food safety and sanitation standards. The Sous Chef will be responsible for assisting with menu development, staff training and scheduling, inventory control, and fostering a collaborative environment that drives culinary excellence and guest satisfaction.
In addition to technical culinary expertise, the ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills—qualities essential for motivating the kitchen team and ensuring efficient operations. - Must be eighteen years old
- Extensive knowledge of culinary techniques flavor profiles and plating presentations
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to hire train motivate and develop kitchen staff
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Proficient in managing food costs portion control and kitchen operations
- Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality dishes consistently
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with the culinary team and other staff members
- In-depth knowledge of food safety requirements of restaurants
- Excellent communication and time-management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently
- Must be able to work flexible hours including evening weekends and holidays
- Must have a valid Food Handlers Certification
