Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- minimum 5 years of food service experience as a cook
- ServSafe certification
- ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- strong organizational skills
- ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- willingness to work AM/PM shifts, weekdays, and weekends
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- associate degree in culinary arts preferred
- minimum 5 years of food service experience as a cook
- 2 years preferred experience as a lead cook with knowledge of food safety and sanitation
- ServSafe certification required
- ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- strong organizational and decision-making skills
- ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Job Duties
- Assist in managing day-to-day kitchen operations and employees
- coordinate food production schedules and ensure high quality, taste, and presentation
- participate in food preparation during peak meal periods
- supervise and train kitchen staff in the absence of the Executive Chef
- control food costs through proper food preparation and handling techniques
- draft kitchen goals and implement profit-oriented and cost-saving ideas
- ensure compliance with health department, sanitation, and food handling guidelines
- conduct regular kitchen inspections and promptly correct deficiencies
- monitor holding, storage operations, stocking, and food rotation to meet sanitation standards
- perform other related duties as assigned
