Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • minimum 5 years of food service experience as a cook
  • ServSafe certification
  • ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • strong organizational skills
  • ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • willingness to work AM/PM shifts, weekdays, and weekends

Job Qualifications

  • associate degree in culinary arts preferred
  • minimum 5 years of food service experience as a cook
  • 2 years preferred experience as a lead cook with knowledge of food safety and sanitation
  • ServSafe certification required
  • ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • strong organizational and decision-making skills
  • ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Job Duties

  • Assist in managing day-to-day kitchen operations and employees
  • coordinate food production schedules and ensure high quality, taste, and presentation
  • participate in food preparation during peak meal periods
  • supervise and train kitchen staff in the absence of the Executive Chef
  • control food costs through proper food preparation and handling techniques
  • draft kitchen goals and implement profit-oriented and cost-saving ideas
  • ensure compliance with health department, sanitation, and food handling guidelines
  • conduct regular kitchen inspections and promptly correct deficiencies
  • monitor holding, storage operations, stocking, and food rotation to meet sanitation standards
  • perform other related duties as assigned
