Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 4 years experience in culinary, food and beverage or related field
  • OR 2-year degree from accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management or related major
  • 2 years experience in culinary, food and beverage or related area
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to relocate to Boston
  • Availability to work full time
  • Ability to achieve sanitation and food safety standards
  • Effective communication skills
  • Budget management capability

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with 4 years of culinary or food and beverage experience
  • OR 2-year degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major with 2 years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Strong culinary skills with ability to develop new menu items
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen equipment
  • Ability to manage budgets and labor costs
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities
  • Experience in staff coaching and development

Job Duties

  • Manages kitchen shift operations and ensures compliance with food and beverage policies, standards and procedures
  • Estimates daily production needs and communicates them to kitchen personnel
  • Assists Executive Chef with kitchen operations and preparation
  • Prepares and cooks food items for regular service and special events
  • Develops new culinary applications, food presentation, and decorative displays
  • Maintains purchasing, receiving and food storage standards
  • Ensures compliance with food handling and sanitation standards
  • Supervises and coordinates activities of cooks and kitchen workers
  • Leads kitchen shifts personally preparing food to required specifications
  • Advocates and practices financial and business decision making
  • Builds mutual trust and respect among team members
  • Sets performance expectations and communicates job descriptions
  • Provides exceptional customer service and addresses guest feedback
  • Manages day-to-day kitchen operations to meet quality and standards
  • Trains employees in safety procedures
  • Coaches and mentors staff to improve performance
  • Participates in employee appraisal and feedback
  • Communicates and solves operational issues
  • Attends and participates in pertinent meetings
