We are currently seeking a dedicated Sous Chef to join our culinary team. This role is critical in maintaining the high standards for which Virgil's Real BBQ is known. The Sous Chef will work directly with the kitchen team to lead and inspire cooks and prep cooks, ensuring that each dish served meets the restaurant’s exceptional quality criteria. The ideal candidate will be a motivated and experienced leader with a passion for food and the ability to mentor others. This position requires hands-on management in daily kitchen operations, overseeing food preparation and maintaining food safety guidelines. The Sous Chef will also play a vital role in cost management by monitoring food costs and labor, alongside contributing to the purchasing and inventory processes. - prior experience in a kitchen management or lead cook position

Job Duties
- Leading the hourly kitchen team members in every capacity and developing them into future sous chefs
- oversee daily operations of the kitchen
- supervise line and prep employees
- fill in as needed in every station
- expedite and assist with purchasing product
- ensure all meals meet restaurant standards for quality, consistency, and taste
- provide training for all staff and enforce food specifications, portion control, recipes, and sanitation
- control food and labor costs while maximizing guest satisfaction
