Job Requirements

  • Ability to carry or lift items up to 75 pounds
  • Ability to move safely and securely within the kitchen
  • Ability to handle food, products, and utensils safely and effectively
  • Ability to bend, stoop, stand, and kneel for prolonged periods
  • Ability to withstand temperature changes related to the work environment
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 1-2 years supervisory kitchen experience
  • Willingness to work nonstandard hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Culinary arts courses/certifications or related degree preferred
  • 1-2 years experience supervising or managing kitchen staff in a high-volume kitchen
  • Proven leadership and communication skills both verbal and written
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Confidence in cooking skills and abilities

Job Duties

  • Control and/or assist with the day-to-day culinary operations within company policies and staffing guidelines
  • Assist with maintaining company image including kitchen cleanliness, proper uniforms, and appearance standards
  • Uphold consistent product and service standards of the highest quality
  • Control and/or assist with BOH food costs through ordering, inventory, financial reports and appropriate actions
  • Ensure a safe working environment and compliance with health standards
  • Maintain kitchen organization and cleanliness according to company and health department regulations
  • Recruit, interview, hire, supervise, motivate, discipline, and recommend termination for team members
  • Train employees regularly
  • Lead by example and mentor new staff
