Job Description

This role is within the Operations department at an establishment, reporting to the Kitchen Manager/Assistant Kitchen Manager. The Sous Chef is responsible for planning and directing food preparation in a kitchen environment, involving supervising other kitchen staff. As an assistant to the Executive Chef, responsibilities include menu planning, inventory management, supply management, placing orders, training staff, and participating in opening/closing activities.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • experience in a kitchen environment
  • strong communication and teamwork skills
  • ability to follow recipes, policies, and procedures
  • physical ability to stand for 8 hours, lift heavy objects, and work in a hot environment
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
