Job Requirements

  • high school education or equivalent
  • one to two years of experience in a related kitchen management or culinary position
  • ability to lift, push, pull and carry heavy items 75 percent of the time
  • ability to bend knees 5-10 times a day
  • capability of moving 30-50 feet regularly throughout shifts
  • ability to stand continuously during preparation and service
  • effective hearing and communication skills
  • ability to see and verify food preparation
  • moderate to excellent reading and writing comprehension
  • able to analyze budgets and read use records

Job Qualifications

  • high school education or equivalent
  • one to two years of experience in a related kitchen management or culinary position
  • advanced knowledge of food profession principles and practices including food and beverage management
  • strong leadership and people management skills
  • ability to maintain a safe and sanitary work environment

Job Duties

  • Manage the daily production, preparation and presentation of all food for the hotel's restaurants and room service to ensure quality, consistent products
  • manage human resources in the production and preparation areas including interviewing, hiring, scheduling, training, coaching, performance reviews and discipline
  • schedule and oversee maintenance and sanitation of kitchen and equipment to meet health and safety standards
  • monitor, analyze and control labor and food costs including preparation of reports and schedules
  • promote the Accident Prevention Program to minimize liabilities and related expenses
