Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a professional culinary setting
  • Proven leadership experience in a kitchen environment
  • Knowledge of safety, sanitation, and quality standards in food production
  • Ability to manage and mentor kitchen teams
  • Strong time management and multitasking skills
  • Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Culinary arts degree or diploma preferred
  • Previous experience in a similar supervisory or leadership culinary role
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to develop creative menu items aligning with brand standards
  • Excellent leadership, communication and organizational skills
  • Experience in managing kitchen staff including training and scheduling
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Familiarity with budgeting and cost control in a culinary environment

Job Duties

  • Support senior leadership by developing and assuming basic management responsibilities
  • Assume the role of liaison between all departments within the culinary division and all other hotel departments
  • Supervise the preparation and cooking of various food items
  • Develop and implement creative menu items that adhere to Hyatt brand standards
  • Plan, coordinate and implement special events and holiday functions
  • Manage hourly kitchen employees through scheduling, payroll, training, coaching, evaluating and hiring
  • May manage other key culinary leadership roles including supervisor and other less senior chefs
  • Lead and coach the team towards achieving exceptional guest service and employee satisfaction results
  • Monitor food production, ordering, cost, and quality and consistency on a daily basis
  • Ensure proper safety and sanitation of all kitchen facilities and equipment
