Job Requirements
- High school diploma preferred
- Culinary or apprenticeship program preferred
- Minimum of two years experience in supervisory and management roles in a similar-sized kitchen
- 2-3 years experience as a chef de partie and lead cook prior to management
- Knowledge of cold food preparation
- Knowledge of safety and sanitation standards
- Experience using kitchen equipment such as slicers, mixers, grinders, and food processors
- Basic math skills for recipe measurements and portion control
- Manual dexterity to handle kitchen tools and equipment
Job Qualifications

- 2-3 years as a chef de partie and lead cook prior to management required
- Thorough working knowledge of cold food preparation
- Good working knowledge of accepted safety and sanitation standards
- Extensive experience with slicers, mixers, grinders, food processors, and other kitchen equipment
- Basic mathematical skills to understand recipes, measurements, requisitions, and portion sizes
- Sufficient manual dexterity to use kitchen tools and equipment
Job Duties
- Visually inspects appearance of all food for proper taste, color combination, and overall presentation to maintain appeal
- Supervises all assigned staff including training, counseling, and discipline
- Schedules appropriate number of staff according to daily needs of restaurant functions and weekly forecasts
- Ensures compliance with safety and sanitation standards
- Assists in managing kitchen inventory and food requisition
- Supports kitchen staff during meal preparation to maintain quality and timing
- Participates in menu planning and development
