Job Requirements
- Culinary degree or training preferred
- Experience cooking in a restaurant environment
- Knowledge of kitchen basics, sanitation, food handling, portion control, and cooking procedures
- Experience with special diets and long-term care preferred
- Experience with large batch cooking for 100 people or more
- Ability to maintain positive resident relations
- Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork ability
Job Qualifications
- Culinary degree or training, or experience cooking in a restaurant environment preferred
- Knowledge of kitchen basics, sanitation, food handling, portion control, and cooking procedures
- Previous experience with special diets and long-term care preferred
- Previous experience with large batch cooking (100 people plus)
- Ability to maintain positive resident relations through a courteous, cooperative and understanding manner
Job Duties
- Produce and oversee production of high-quality dishes reflecting menu and resident requirements and preferences
- Assist with producing diversified menus, food stock deliveries, rotation of products and regulatory log requirements
- Ensure cleanliness and safety standards are maintained by following established cleaning schedules and protocols (maintain orderly coolers, stock rooms, storage, and production areas)
- Train and monitor auxiliary kitchen staff to use best practices and provide best results
- Foster a positive, friendly work environment
- Support servers and caregivers to ensure their needs are met to best serve residents
