Job Requirements

  • At least two to five years of experience as a chef in a similar environment
  • Serve Safe Certification
  • Ability to walk and stand during entire shift
  • Ability to continuously reach, bend, lift and carry
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs as needed
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English
  • Polished appearance and demeanor
  • Ability to lead and mentor a team
  • Ability to obtain and maintain full knowledge and understanding of company and department rules, regulations, policies and procedures

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Provide guidance to kitchen staff members, including line cooking, food preparation, and dish plating
  • Train new kitchen employees to restaurant and kitchen standards
  • Supervise all food preparation and presentation to ensure quality and restaurant standards
  • Assist in recruiting qualified individuals
  • Monitor and develop team member performance including supervision, assisting with evaluations, training, and scheduling
  • Work with head chef to maintain kitchen organization, staff ability, and training opportunities
  • Verify that food storage units meet standards and are well-managed
  • Coordinate with restaurant management team on supply ordering, budget, kitchen efficiency and staffing
  • Check quality of ingredients
  • Keep cooking stations stocked, especially before and during prime operation hours
  • Monitor stock and place orders when shortages occur
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation standards
  • Report to work as scheduled, on time and prepared
  • Perform other duties as assigned
