Job Requirements

  • High school diploma preferred
  • culinary or apprenticeship program preferred
  • minimum of two years experience in supervisory and management
  • 2-3 years experience as chef de partie and lead cook
  • knowledge of cold food preparation
  • knowledge of safety and sanitation standards
  • experience with kitchen equipment such as slicers, mixers, grinders, food processors
  • basic math skills
  • manual dexterity to use kitchen tools

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma preferred
  • culinary or apprenticeship program preferred
  • minimum of two years experience in a supervisory and management position in a similar size operation
  • 2-3 years as a chef de partie and lead cook prior to management required
  • thorough working knowledge of cold food preparation
  • good working knowledge of accepted safety and sanitation standards
  • extensive experience with slicers, mixers, grinders, food processors
  • basic mathematical skills to understand recipes, measurements, requisition amounts, and portion sizes
  • sufficient manual dexterity of hand to use all kitchen equipment

Job Duties

  • Visually inspects appearance of all food for proper taste, color combination, and overall presentation to maintain appeal
  • supervises all assigned staff including training, counseling, and discipline
  • schedules appropriate number of staff according to daily needs of restaurant functions and weekly forecasts
  • assists in maintaining high kitchen standards of quality and sanitation
  • actively participates in food preparation and kitchen operations
  • monitors inventory and proper use of kitchen equipment
  • enforces safety and sanitation procedures in all kitchen activities
