Job Requirements
- Three years of formal culinary training or equivalent experience
- At least three years of leadership experience within a kitchen environment
- Comprehensive knowledge of culinary operations across multiple stations
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and train kitchen staff
- Awareness and application of food safety and hygiene standards
- Effective communication and organizational skills
- Willingness to work flexible schedules and shifts
- Physical ability to work in a demanding kitchen setting
Job Qualifications
- Formal culinary school education or equivalent experience
- Minimum three years of leadership experience as a Sous Chef
- Extensive knowledge of all culinary departments including pastries
- Passion for food and commitment to high standards
- Effective supervisory and training skills
- Ability to keep up with culinary trends
- Current First Aid and Serve Safe training is an asset
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing situations
- Positive attitude and team player mindset
- Flexible availability to meet scheduling needs
Job Duties
- Lead and supervise the kitchen team ensuring high productivity
- Oversee the preparation and service of food items maintaining quality standards
- Delegate duties to cooks and kitchen staff effectively
- Train and motivate kitchen colleagues to achieve excellence
- Manage and adhere to food safety, EcoSure and ServSafe standards
- Monitor kitchen operations including inventory rotation and equipment maintenance
- Assist in menu development and coordinate banquet and restaurant function production
