Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in culinary arts or food service management
  • Certified in food handling and safety
  • Ability to stand and walk continuously for up to 8 hours
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push, pull and frequently lift or move up to 30 pounds
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good communication and leadership skills

Job Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in cooking techniques such as sautéing, roasting, braising
  • Experience in menu planning and recipe development
  • Knowledge of international cuisines and food presentation
  • Ability to follow company and HACCP policies and procedures
  • Ability to control company resources and adhere to budgetary guidelines
  • Certified in proper food handling and food safety guidelines
  • Detail oriented with ability to perform mathematical calculations and follow directions
  • Understanding of flavor profiles and seasonings
  • Expert understanding of kitchen safety and sanitation
  • Initiative and good judgment in assigning tasks, delegating responsibility and resolving problems
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to secure cooperation of dining service employees and supervise subordinates
  • Professional image and commitment to safety

Job Duties

  • Continually improve customer satisfaction while maintaining the operating budget
  • Supervise all kitchen areas to ensure a consistent, high quality product is produced
  • Ensure sanitation and food standards are achieved
  • Prepare food by operating a variety of kitchen equipment
  • Read menus and recipes, estimate food preparation amounts, check or assist in creating production records
  • Clean and sanitize work stations and follow all HACCP regulations
  • Produce small and large batch cooking
