Job Requirements
- High school education or equivalent
- 3-5 years previous Sous Chef experience in an upper-tier restaurant or hotel
- Ability to train and supervise kitchen staff
- Strong understanding of sanitation standards
- Ability to manage kitchen operations and payroll
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Physical stamina to stand and lift up to 30 lbs
- Must hold TABC certification
- Ability to work varied shifts based on business needs
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- 3-5 years of experience as a Sous Chef in upscale restaurants or hotels
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques including butchering and sauce preparation
- Proficient in kitchen sanitation standards
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work flexibly according to department needs
- Must hold TABC certification
Job Duties
- Train kitchen staff in preparation and cooking techniques
- Supervise kitchen operations to maintain quality and standards
- Manage food storage, portion control, and product rotation
- Schedule culinary staff and control payroll costs
- Enforce cost and quality control procedures
- Communicate clearly with staff, provide coaching and performance evaluations
- Maintain safety and sanitation standards
- Operate kitchen equipment including stoves, ovens, and slicers
- Adapt to fast-paced and stressful kitchen environments
- Perform additional duties as assigned
